But since the record store story is really a 365 days a year operation, we took the opportunity to walk around the city centre’s ‘vinyl valley’ and give you a quick guide to the places that ought to be on your regular shopping list.

The official release list is out now and contains the usual mix of new music, reissues and coloured vinyl. Collecting vinyl for a cause: Entering Chuck Troutman’s basement is like stepping back in time. Cases of vinyl records are scattered throughout the floor, old music posters fill the walls and the vibe is pure retro. There are thousands of old records waiting to be played and touched. The collection just sort of happened, Troutman said. His brother retired a few years back and decided to downsize and hit the road in a RV thus giving Troutman more than 400 albums to add to his already 900 album collection.
