When you put the needle to that groove, there’s a tactile sensation.” Bo Crane told New Times. You can forgive DJ, record producer, and longtime owner of Pandisc Music Corp for being biased. After all, last year he was inducted into the inaugural Legends of Vinyl Hall of Fame class. Tomorrow he’ll share the room with plenty of people who agree with him at this year’s Hall of Fame Induction at Hunter’s Nightclub.

Wilco Announce Record Store Listening Parties for New Album: Wilco’s newest album Schmilco will be previewed around the country at various local record stores on September 6, three days before its release on September 9. On the same day, vinyl copies of Schmilco will be available as well as exclusives to win at the listening parties, including a white label vinyl, slipmats featuring Joan Cornella artwork and more. Update on the Vinyl Record Supply Chain: …The challenges are even greater for small independent record labels, as their orders often get pushed out in favour of large orders from bigger music companies. In the 6 months since I wrote that post, the tides have begun to shift in the vinyl record supply chain. There are new vinyl pressing plants opening on a regular basis. The latest has made a lot of press in Canada, and it is poised to become the second-largest vinyl pressing plant in North America. Talk about a shakeup!

Country star Dierks Bentley’s pop-up performance at Vintage Vinyl: The Delmar Loop is known for it’s musical history with Blue Berry Hill and Chuck Berry. Today they got a taste of country. Superstar Dierks Bentley held a pop up concert at Vintage Vinyl. Early Friday morning, a line started looping around Vintage Vinyl for a chance to see a country music superstar up close. “Yeah, we’ve been looking forward to it for a while. Dierks Bentley a pretty big name in country. Tons of fans out front, they’ve been waiting for him since about 8:00am this morning.” said Vintage Vinyl Marketing Manager Orlandez Lewis. More than 350 fans lined up to get a look and listen to the country superstar signing autographs and singing songs from his latest vinyl album.
