Written, produced, and composed by two-time Academy Award and eleven-time GRAMMY® Award-winning Finneas O’Connell, the 32-track original soundtrack is a cinematic tour de force in musical storytelling, showcasing O’Connell’s signature production and attention to emotional depth and detail.
Working alongside Beef creator Lee Sung Jim for a year, O’Connell has meticulously crafted an intricate and spine-tingling sonic landscape from which the cast and their stories shine. Creating through-lines, drawing from themes, narratives, and the characters themselves, O’Connell is a master of the emotional push, pull, and release.
Weaving everyday sounds hidden within his compositions, creating subliminal layers, and a depth and intensity that is apparent throughout. Beef The Original Soundtrack is available now across all digital platforms, as a limited edition 11-track vinyl (via A24 Music and Finneas website from Friday), and arrives with the season 2 premiere available on Netflix from today. Also released today via A24 Music, a stunning rendition of Tame Impala’s “New Person, Same Old Mistakes,” covered by Juliana Madrid, who performs the song in the show.
