TVD Radar: The Vampire Lestat (Original Series Soundtrack) purple smoke vinyl in stores 11/27

VIA PRESS RELEASE | Set against the backdrop of a global rock phenomenon, The Vampire Lestat follows Lestat de Lioncourt as played by Sam Reid on an electric multi-city tour while he’s haunted by “muses” from his wild and rebellious past. Preorder the soundtrack here.

As his band’s popularity and star power rises, so does Lestat’s influence over vampires and human’s alike, leaving others to contend with Lestat’s power in the face of The Great Conversion, an unnatural surge in the vampire population. In addition to Reid, The Vampire Lestat star Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, Delainey Hayles, and Jennifer Ehle, and is executive produced by Mark Johnson, creator, writer, and showrunner Rolin Jones, Hannah Moscovitch, Christopher Rice, and the late Anne Rice.

Daniel Hart is a composer and performer based in Los Angeles. He made his feature film debut with the critically acclaimed Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, beginning an ongoing collaboration with filmmaker David Lowery, and has since composed the music for all of Lowery’s films, including Pete’s Dragon, A Ghost Story, The Old Man & the Gun, and The Green Knight.

His recent projects include A24’s Mother Mary, AMC’s hit series The Vampire Lestat, and The Dutchman starring Kate Mara and André Holland. Recent work also includes An Almost Christmas Story, Sunny, and Peter Pan & Wendy, reflecting Hart’s approach to scoring that blends orchestral writing, experimental textures, and an intimate emotional perspective.

Over the past decade, Hart has worked across film, television, and audio storytelling, with credits including the hit AMC series Interview with the Vampire, as well as The Exorcist, SMILF, and The Society. He has also scored shorts such as Oak Thorn & The Old Rose of Love, It’s Raining, It’s Pouring, and Ghosty, and the documentary Kufi Krew: An American Story.

Beyond screen projects, Hart has written music for This American Life and composed the score for S-Town. A longtime multi-instrumentalist and arranger, he has performed with St. Vincent, Broken Social Scene, Other Lives, and The Polyphonic Spree, contributed arrangements to St. Vincent’s Daddy’s Home, collaborated with Anjimile, and continues to write and perform with his band Dark Rooms.
