Young music fans fueling the vinyl revival: According to Nielsen, vinyl album sales in the U.S. have grown 260% since 2009: Turntables may not have the power to turn back time, but it certainly feels that way. Over the past decade, vinyls and record players have recaptured the hearts of music lovers. According to Nielsen, vinyl sales nationwide have surged from 2.8 million in 2010 to just under 12-million in 2015. A big contributing factor to the boom, are young generations and millennials.

One Of Europe’s Biggest Record Collectors Is Selling Off Some Of Its Amazing Catalogue: Radio France, one of Europe’s biggest vinyl collectors, is set to sell off part of its 1.5 million strong collection. The station has been collecting vinyl since it was founded over four decades ago and has unsurprisingly worked up a very extensive collection which is housed near Porte d’Aubervilliers in Paris. Vinyl enthusiasts will no doubt be frothing at the chance to get their hands on some of the most interesting records around and by the sounds of it they have a pretty amazing catalogue.

THE NIGHT OF VINYL – Documentary + Pop Up Record Shop: (Friday March 4) We are hosting the AWARD WINNING DOCUMENTARY of “All Things Must Pass – The Rise and Fall of Tower Records” with a NIGHT OF VINYL at the Nordlof Center downtown Rockford! Starting at 7PM, we will have a HUGE COLLABORATIVE Pop-Up-Record-Shop featuring: Culture Shock – Clothing and Records, Toad Hall, Kate’s Pie Shop & Record Store, CD Source.

Vinyl Continues to Make Rounds at KSPC CD & Record Expo: Boxes of vinyl and CDs took over Edmunds Ballroom last Sunday, Feb. 21 for KSPC’s bi-annual CD & Record Expo. Returning for its 21st year, vendors at the event sold CDs and records, as well as DVDs, T-shirts, and other music memorabilia. A two-dollar admission fee applied to the public, but the event was free for students of the Claremont Colleges. The items sold fit a wide range of possible music budgets, from records costing as little as $2 up to over $50.
