Mold, UK | Mold venue has exclusive vinyl for Record Store Day: Tune in to a celebration of all things vinyl this weekend for the annual event, Record Store Day. This Saturday (April 23) is Record Store Day, the one day of the year that unites more than 250 record shops in the UK and thousands globally. It’s a celebration of their independence, unique culture and the art of vinyl. Set up in 2007 to champion independent record shops, it’s still going strong as it celebrates not only the businesses that have stood the test of time but also the new generation of shops that have just opened their doors. Many of the world’s major recording artists support the event by releasing exclusive vinyl records. This year includes releases from the likes of David Bowie, Blur, Noel Gallagher, The Rolling Stones, The Prodigy and hundreds more. As part of the official Record Store Day organisers’ mantra, records cannot be pre-ordererd or reserved, it’s simply first come first served at the stores on the day.

Raleigh, NC | Record Store Day 2022: What are the best spots in the Triangle? Calling all vinyl lovers — Record Store Day 2022 is upon us, coming on Saturday, April 23. Record Store Day is an annual tradition where tons of new records are released and record stores across the country offer a wide range of celebratory practices, from live music to beers to price reductions, Record Store Day has it all. This year, over 300 new pressings will be released for the first time, including Kali Uchis’ “Sin Miedo,” Future’s “DS2,” Childish Gambino’s “Kauai” and Taylor Swift’s “The Lakes.” With so many places to get records in Raleigh, let’s break down a few of my favorites. Nice Price Books and Records – 3106 Hillsborough St. Nice Price is my favorite record store in Raleigh and perhaps the one that has drained my bank account the most. I first went with Vol. 102 editors Jaylan Harrington, Caryl Espinoza Jaen and Avery Davis, along with Managing Editor Sam Overton, and that experience spurred me to keep going back.

Manchester, UK | Record Store Day, Bottomless Wine & The Best Things to do in Manchester This Week: The annual celebration of independent record shops takes place this Saturday. Record Store Day began back in 2007 and every year sees limited edition albums and singles released, along with parties and gatherings hosted across the country at some of music’s best establishments. Manchester is home to some incredible indie record shops that stretch out from the city centre to many of the suburbs and most will be celebrating in true Record Store Day style. Some of our favourites include Altrincham’s Tasty Records, Liam Gallagher’s favourite – Sifters in Burnage and, of course, Piccadilly Records in Northern Quarter who always knows how to bring the party!

Bury, UK | Classical Times Antiques and Collectables, Radcliffe, to celebrate National Record Store Day: A Radcliffe record store is championing the value of vinyl and buying music locally this weekend. As well as records, CDs, music DVDs and memorabilia like t-shirts and programmes will be on sale. Scotland, UK | Record Store Day 2022 in Scotland: When is it, what exclusive records are available and how can I buy them? The pandemic has meant that Record Store Day has been a little different – with two separate ‘drops’ of limited vinyl last year – but it looks like things are back to normal for 2022. Record Store Day has become a major event for vinyl lovers since the inaugural event in the US in 2007 sold barely more than 10 different limited edition pressings by artists including Death Cab for Cutie, R.E.M. and Stephen Malkmus. Now over 200 independent record stores across the UK take part each year, selling thousands of copies of exclusive vinyl, from new releases to old classics. Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s event.

Chicago, IL | 3CR’s Guide to Record Store Day 2022 in Chicago and Beyond: It’s time for Record Store Day to celebrate 15 years of fantastic vinyl exclusives! Since COVID-19 forced the annual day of record store celebration to split into three in 2020 and two editions last year, things have been a little tumultuous. The pandemic and interest in vinyl rising has also caused delays, pushing records off their originally announced dates. While this Saturday, April 23 is the official Record Store Day, there will be another RSD drop on June 18 for any titles that couldn’t make it in time (and there’s quite a few that have been moved to the later date). The fun event has always had some criticism, specifically its focus on costly vinyl, records that don’t necessarily need to be repressed, flippers picking up all the rarest goodies to resell at even more ridiculous prices, record stores not making as much as they once did because of all the corporate overlords digging their nails into the backs of small business, etc. And now with the ever looming pandemic, safety has become an issue.

Detroit, MI | Celebrate Record Store Day with some new wax from these Metro Detroit record shops: Fun fact: The plural of vinyl is vinyl. Record Store Day is this Saturday, and vinyl lovers will be coming together to pick up the newest release from their favorite local record store. After being spread out over a series of days during the pandemic, the annual holiday returns to its traditional one-day celebration this year. From David Bowie to Kali Uchis, and everything in between, artists are releasing limited edition titles in recognition of the musical day. Note: Not all participating stores will carry every new release. If you’re looking for a specific title, make sure to contact your local record store directly. Here’s a list of our Vote 4 the Best record stores participating in this year’s Record Store Day.
