Denver Public library has released a vinyl record! Yes! The Denver Public Library has released a 45rpm vinyl record featuring local Denver bands Accordion Crimes and The Raven and The Writing Desk! This fantastic artifact is here to raise awareness (in an old-school way) for DPL’s local music service: Volume Denver! Eclectic local record store [Celebrated Summer Records] celebrates 10 years: …Although the initial concept was to focus on punk, hardcore and indie rock it was never the only things we carried. Right off the bat, my interest in soul and jazz was apparent, and since we have moved to Hampden that aspect of the store has become even more important to me. We carry Led Zeppelin and Bruce Springsteen as well, but my tastes and the focus of the shop tend to lean towards the esoteric, whether in punk, jazz or reggae.

Musicians cut their tunes to vinyl in record time at University of Huddersfield workshop: A vinyl workshop proved itself a cut above by capturing musicians’ tunes in record time. During a single day, 25 musicians, singers and poets cut 12 records on a mobile vinyl cutting lathe, supplied and manned by Henry Bainbrigde, of Dub Studio, Bristol. Recording to vinyl is a lengthy process compared to digital recording and event organiser, Dave Smith of the university’s archive, believes they may have set an unofficial record (pun intended).
